Tekcapital (AIM:TEK), the UK intellectual property investment group listed on AIM, said its portfolio company Innovative Eyewear has had its Reebok sport smart eyewear collection named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026.
Innovative Eyewear is the NASDAQ-listed smart eyewear maker behind the Lucyd, Lucyd Armor, Reebok, Eddie Bauer and Nautica brands, in which Tekcapital holds 259,455 shares.
The Reebok collection spans ten styles aimed at outdoor athletes, featuring the brand's first comprehensive audio system built for loud environments such as gyms or windy runs, alongside rubberised nosepieces and ear grips to reduce slippage. The glasses connect to the Lucyd app for walkie-talkie functionality between team-mates or training partners, and the range includes polarised, light-adaptive and fully prescription-adaptable models.
Harrison Gross, chief executive of Innovative Eyewear, called the award "a strong indication of product-market fit and design quality", adding that the company is "punching well above its weight when it comes to producing world-class smart eyewear."
The recognition follows Innovative Eyewear's Red Dot award for Lucyd Armor, and comes weeks after the company reported preliminary unaudited third-quarter net sales of approximately $1.04 million, up around 55% year-on-year and the highest quarterly figure in its history.
Innovative Eyewear has also been expanding its retail footprint, with Lucyd Armor rolling into more than 150 US big-box stores from October and into around 345 Canadian optical clinics through its FYihealth partnership.
