Tekcapital raises £550,000 via share placing

Tekcapital (LSE:TEK) has raised £550,000 (US$730,000) before expenses through a placing of 24.44m new shares at 2.25p each, the AIM-listed intellectual property investment group said.

Net proceeds will strengthen the balance sheet and support the company's investment strategy across its existing and new portfolio holdings.

The raise comes weeks after Tekcapital reported record net assets of $201.7m for the six months to 30 June, up from $55.1m at the end of 2025, driven largely by the fair value uplift from Vesari, the geothermal-powered AI data centre venture in which Tekcapital holds a 51% stake acquired for no cash consideration in May.

Vesari has now engaged ARC Group International as capital markets adviser for a contemplated business combination with a yet-to-be-identified special purpose acquisition company, alongside related financing. Its patent portfolio, covering twelve US applications for a closed-loop campus architecture spanning subsurface heat extraction, power conversion, compute integration and low-earth-orbit optical connectivity, was independently valued at $293m as of 30 June.

Elsewhere in the portfolio, Guident is progressing toward a public listing following its $2m raise in May, while MicroSalt has supplied more than 1.5bn servings of its low-sodium salt and completed an oversubscribed $1.7m raise. Innovative Eyewear has logged twelve consecutive quarters of year-on-year sales growth.

"We believe the next 12 months will be transformative for Tekcapital and likely to produce a corresponding significant increase in shareholder value," said Executive Chairman Dr Clifford M. Gross.
