Gear4music (Holdings) (AIM:G4M), the largest UK-based online retailer of musical instruments and music equipment, reported total revenue of £85.4m for the six months to 30 September, up 6% from £80.7m a year earlier.
The AIM-listed group said growth came against "very strong prior-year comparatives" and remained in line with Board expectations.
European and Rest of the World revenue led the advance, rising 11% to £34.4m, while UK revenue grew 3% to £51m.
Gross profit is expected to reach £23.6m, up from £22.6m in the prior-year period, though gross margin is expected to narrow slightly to 27.6% from 28.0%.
EBITDA is expected to come in at £5.7m, down from £6.5m a year earlier, which the company attributed to previously reported setup costs tied to its new automated UK warehouse.
"We continue to invest in our e-commerce platform and operational capabilities to support sustainable, profitable growth over the medium and longer term," said Executive Chair Andrew Wass, adding that the warehouse project "continues to progress" with its initial setup costs reflected in first-half earnings.
The Board said it continues to expect full-year performance for the year ending 31 March 2027 to be in line with consensus market expectations, which it cited as revenue of £200.2m, EBITDA of £16m and pre-tax profit of £6m, with peak trading still ahead.
Gear4music will report interim results for the six months ended 30 September on 17 November.
