Wishbone Gold reports wide gold and copper zones at Red Setter

Wishbone Gold (AIM:WSBN) told investors on Tuesday that the latest assay results from its ongoing drill programme at the Red Setter project have identified wide zones of gold and copper mineralisation.

The London-listed junior explorer, which focuses on gold and copper exploration across a tenement package near Western Australia's Telfer mine, said the results materially support its view that significant mineralisation exists at shallower depths than previously understood at the project.

Red Setter sits 20km south-west of Greatland Resources' Telfer gold mine and 50km east of Cyprium Metals' Nifty copper mine, within a tenement package Wishbone has built to roughly 628 square kilometres around Telfer, including the recently applied-for Havieron South-East tenement.

Standout intercepts include 14.4m at 0.81 g/t gold, 11.6m at 0.70 g/t gold including 4.6m at 1.31 g/t gold, and 7m at 2.0 g/t gold, alongside copper results of 12m at 0.15% and 3m at 0.51% within a wider 7m at 0.26%.

Wishbone acknowledged the results took longer than expected to publish, citing the volume of core being processed, commercial laboratory backlogs and the multi-step assay quality control process, with multi-element assays covering copper expected to continue arriving more slowly than gold results.

Over 11,317 metres of samples have been dispatched for assay testing in the 2026 drill campaign to date.

The programme, originally designed as a roughly 9,000-metre, 25-hole combination of reverse circulation and diamond drilling to follow up 2025 results, was extended and modified after the shallow gold discovery to target that mineralisation more closely.

Wishbone has now drilled 40 holes for 12,606 metres in the 2026 campaign, comprising 5,109 metres of reverse circulation drilling and 7,497 metres of diamond drilling, with diamond metre rates averaging 52 metres a day targeting depths of up to 650 metres.

Of 35 reverse circulation pre-collar holes completed, gold assays have been returned for the first 15 holes and 12 diamond tails, with a large backlog of results still to come.

"The potential of Red Setter is really starting to come together," said Ed Mead, Wishbone Gold's WA director, noting that Telfer processed 5.19m tonnes at a head grade of 0.53 g/t gold and 0.08% copper in its June 2026 quarter, "meaning several of our Red Setter intercepts already grade well above Telfer's current plant feed."

The company's prior update on 22 June had flagged the initial shallow gold discovery at Red Setter; Tuesday's results extend that picture with wider intercepts and the first copper assays from the programme.
