Wickes Group (LSE:WIX) reported group revenue growth of 4.5% for the 13 weeks to 26 September, its third quarter of 2026, up from 2.3% growth in the second quarter.
Retail revenue rose 6%, a marked step-up from 1.8% growth in the prior quarter, which the London-listed home improvement retailer attributed to strong customer and volume growth alongside mild price inflation following a sustained period of deflation.
The company said it gained further market share during the quarter, citing particular strength in timber, flooring, roofing and garden categories, with Retail like-for-like revenue up 11.5% on a two-year basis.
Design & Installation revenue growth slowed sharply to 0.3% in the quarter, down from 3.8% in the second quarter, as delivered sales were broadly flat; Wickes said Lifestyle Kitchens and Bespoke Bathrooms continued to grow but customers were "more considered" on larger Bespoke Kitchen purchases, leaving ordered sales by value lower than a year earlier.
TradePro sales rose 8% year-on-year, with active members up 8% to 684,000, extending a membership programme that stood at 671,000 at the half-year stage and 615,000 a year earlier.
Wickes opened two new stores, in Saffron Walden and Colne, and refitted or refreshed three during the quarter; it now expects five new store openings and 12 refits for the full year, having previously guided to four to five openings and 15 to 20 refits.
The company also acquired the freehold of its Perry Barr store for £6.3m, saying the site had been at risk of redevelopment and that the purchase secured the future of a profitable location.
