Wizz Air Holdings (LSE:WIZZ) has announced that Michael Delehant, group managing director, will leave the low-cost airline on 31 July to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

The reshuffle flattens Wizz Air's senior management structure, removing a layer between the CEO and two operational leadership roles.

Diarmuid O'Conghaile, chief operations officer, and Ian Malin, chief commercial officer, will now report directly to chief executive József Váradi.

Jingyuan Sun, expected to join as chief technical officer, will also report to Váradi once she arrives.

Váradi credited Delehant with helping steer the airline through what he called "multiple black swan events and extraordinary challenges" over his five years at the company.

"He has left a lasting footprint in Wizz Air's history, and I wish him and his family the very best for the future," Váradi said.
