Fintel lands largest enterprise deployment yet with Openwork deal

Fintel (AIM:FNTL) on Wednesday told investors it has won a contract to supply core technology to The Openwork Partnership, with its Plannr platform selected as the central customer relationship management (CRM) and adviser operating system for Openwork's technology transformation programme.

Fintel is a London-listed provider of technology, data and business support services to the UK retail financial advice sector.

The Openwork Partnership is one of the UK's largest financial advice networks, supporting nearly 5,000 advisers across more than 800 firms, including Openwork, 2plan and Owl Financial.

Alongside Plannr, Fintel's Mortgage Brain business (acquired by Fintel last month) will power mortgage sourcing through a deep integration, giving Openwork advisers a unified system spanning mortgage, wealth and protection advice.

Plannr and Seccl form the foundation of Openwork's new technology suite, which also draws on more than 100 additional technology providers in a best-of-breed structure.

Openwork expects the new technology to save advisers up to 60 minutes per client case, through unified advice journeys, configurable workflows and reduced duplication of data entry, alongside enhanced client engagement tools and scope for artificial intelligence integration.

Rob Barker, chief executive of The Openwork Partnership, said the new technology would be "comfortably the best on the market", adding that it was "purpose-built" rather than "retrofitted on to an enterprise sales platform".

Matt Timmins, chief executive of Fintel, called the deal "a seminal moment for Fintel and a tremendous endorsement of Plannr, Mortgage Brain, and our core drive to unify technology applications to deliver the best client experiences".

The partnership marks Plannr's largest enterprise deployment to date, extending its reach from individual advisers and growing firms into a network-scale technology contract.
