Filtronic wins $8m US contract for amplifier technology

Filtronic plc (AIM:FTC) (AIM: FTC) said it has been awarded an $8m (£6m) contract with a US company to design, develop, produce and qualify a range of high-performance system-level amplifiers for satellite communications.

The contract commences in March 2026 and is expected to complete in 2027, the company said in the filing. Filtronic will incorporate its proprietary high-power solid-state amplifier technology based on GaN technology and specialised Integrated Circuit (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits) technology.

"Under the agreement, the Company will design, develop, produce and qualify amplifiers, expanding the Company's offering in satellite communications," the company said.

The filing notes Filtronic operates from two global manufacturing sites and three engineering centres of excellence, supplying RF solutions to the space, aerospace and defence, telecoms infrastructure and critical communications markets.
