Light Science trims revenue outlook amid regulatory delays

Light Science Technologies Holdings (AIM:LST), the AIM-listed fire safety and food security technology group, now expects revenue for the year to 30 November to come in at £9m to £9.5m, up from £8.6m in FY2025 but below its previous expectations.

The shortfall stems largely from delayed approvals in its passive fire protection (PFP) division, which pushed back two installation contracts originally expected to complete in the second half; those contracts will now slip beyond FY2026 entirely.

Second-half revenue is still expected to come in around 50% higher than the first half, which the company called continuing momentum, even as the full-year outturn falls short of plan.

The adjusted loss before tax for FY2026 is now expected to be £0.8m to £1m, broadly in line with the prior year, with the second half expected to come in at around breakeven.

Despite the delays, the board said underlying demand for its Injectaclad cavity fire barrier system remains strong, with a growing pipeline across high-rise residential buildings, hotels, schools and social housing, and expects a number of the delayed projects to progress during FY2027.

The contract electronics manufacturing division is performing ahead of expectations with positive momentum across customer projects, while the AgTech division is trading broadly in line with expectations and remained stable over the period.
