EDX Medical Group (LSE:EDX), the Cambridge-based developer of digital diagnostic products for cancer and infectious diseases, has been appointed to supply molecular profiling products and services to Astron Health, a global precision oncology firm that provides second opinions and molecular profiling interpretation to clinicians worldwide.
Under the agreement, EDX Medical will deliver two diagnostics in the UK: Caris MI Profile, a comprehensive tumour profiling platform designed to guide precision oncology treatment decisions, and Caris Assure, a blood-based molecular profiling test for patients with previously diagnosed solid tumours where tissue biopsy is not feasible.
No financial terms were disclosed.
Astron's molecular tumour board translates profiling results into evidence-graded second opinions and management options for primary clinical teams, making test accuracy a critical dependency in the relationship.
"We see this type of partnership as validation of our strategy to provide the world's best diagnostic tests that shape the treatment of major diseases," said Professor Sir Chris Evans, founder of EDX Medical.
Astron co-founder and chief medical officer Dr Padman Vamadevan said the firm needed "best-in-class diagnostic tests" to inform clinicians and patients globally, and confirmed EDX Medical had been selected as its UK molecular profiling supplier.
