Abingdon Health (AIM:ABDX) said its Doncaster-based performance evaluation laboratory, Abingdon Analytical, has been granted accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
The York-based developer and manufacturer of rapid lateral-flow diagnostics and point-of-care med-tech provides development, regulatory strategy and scale manufacturing services, including acting as a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for companion diagnostic projects.
ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard assessing whether a laboratory can consistently produce valid, reliable and defensible results, and UKAS is the UK's sole government-recognised national accreditation body.
The accreditation matters because performance evaluation data sits at the centre of the technical documentation diagnostics developers must submit under UKCA, the EU IVDR and FDA regulatory pathways, and regulators are scrutinising the competence and traceability behind that data more closely.
"Independent UKAS accreditation gives them, and the regulators reviewing their files, clear assurance that our performance evaluation work meets an internationally recognised standard," said Dr Chris Hand, Abingdon Health's executive chairman.
The accreditation lands weeks after Abingdon officially opened a new manufacturing hub at University Research Park in Madison, Wisconsin, part of a broader push to build an integrated CDMO offering spanning diagnostic development, manufacturing, regulatory support and market access on both sides of the Atlantic.
Abingdon reported a 31% rise in full-year revenue to £11.3m for the year ended 30 June, with adjusted EBITDA profitability reached in the second half; fuller FY26 results are expected in early October.
