Talon Resources reports high-grade gold intercepts from maiden Eagle Lake drilling

Talon Resources (AIM:TAR) reported high-grade gold intercepts from the first assays of its maiden drill programme at the Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario on Thursday, including 21.25 metres at 2.19 g/t gold, with 8.75 metres at 5.05 g/t gold within that interval.

The North American gold exploration company said the results come from preliminary, rapid-turnaround assays on sections of core from the 12-hole programme, with the bulk of assay results still expected from the laboratory by the end of 2026.

The standout intercept came from hole EG-26-07 at Cedar Trench, the target that MINML's PRISM machine-learning platform had ranked highest for prospectivity, and included narrower zones running as rich as 1.25 metres at 17.08 g/t gold and 0.93 metres at 15.10 g/t gold.

The same hole also returned 11.57 metres at 0.85 g/t gold from shallower depth, while a second Cedar Trench hole, EG-26-06, intersected 33.35 metres at 0.61 g/t gold, including 4.55 metres at 1.83 g/t gold.

At East Fornieri Bay, hole EG-26-03, for which all assays have now been received, returned five mineralised intervals including 0.50 metres at 6.86 g/t gold, while EG-26-01 intersected 5.80 metres at 0.54 g/t gold, including 1.10 metres at 1.68 g/t gold.

"These are terrific first results and give us a vital early picture of the wider prospectivity of Eagle Lake," said chief executive Alex King, adding that the Cedar Trench intercept "reinforces the work carried out by MINML, giving us another layer of data to interpret as we narrow our focus and step out from these results."

The Eagle Lake land package, in which Talon holds a 90% interest, sits in Ontario's Wabigoon Subprovince and hosts multiple known gold-bearing zones identified through historical exploration, including surface samples of up to 204 g/t gold.

Talon's Phase 1 surface programme, reported in June and July, had already flagged high-grade gold across significant widths at East Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and the newly identified Moss Knoll target, work that was used to design the maiden drill programme to test those zones at depth.

The programme itself was accelerated from an initial 1,000 metres and brought forward from the fourth quarter to begin in early September, completing in October across 12 holes at East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll.

Remaining samples are still being processed at Activation Laboratories, and Talon said the full results will be fed into MINML's machine-learning model to refine its geological model and guide further drill planning, with the next phase of exploration expected in the spring of 2027.
