Talon Resources completes maiden drilling at Eagle Lake

Talon Resources (AIM:TAR) said it has completed the maiden diamond drilling programme at its Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario, Canada.

The North American gold exploration company drilled 12 holes totalling 1,169 metres across four priority target areas: East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll.

Drill core is now being logged and cut, with samples heading to Activation Laboratories' certified facility in Dryden, about 25 km from the site, and assay results will be released in batches as they come in.

Those results will feed into Talon's geological model alongside its existing exploration data and MINML's PRISM machine-learning analysis, which the company has used to rank prospectivity across the Wabigoon Subprovince.

"Just three months after starting exploration at Eagle Lake, we have completed our maiden drill programme across four priority targets," said chief executive Alex King, adding that the results "should give us a much clearer picture of the geology and mineralisation at depth and help inform our next drilling programme."

The programme was expanded from an initial roughly 1,000 metres to 1,375 metres of planned drilling and brought forward from a fourth-quarter start to begin in early September, with Critical Discoveries managing the campaign and Rodren Drilling as contractor.

One of the holes, EL26-05 at West Fornieri Bay, was designed to twin historical hole R-85-12, which had intercepted 3.05 metres at 2.05 g/t gold across two zones.
