Tristel (AIM:TSTL) has appointed Christopher Lee as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 August, following a competitive selection process.

The AIM-listed manufacturer of infection prevention products said Lee replaces Matt Sassone, who leaves on 30 June to take a worldwide president role at a large US multinational. Chief Financial Officer Anna Wasyl will serve as interim CEO in the intervening period.

Lee brings more than 35 years of medical technology experience, including an 18-year career at Johnson & Johnson. He most recently served as CEO of Summit Medical, a UK-based medical device group, from 2020 to 2025, and prior to that led Venner Medical International, a Jersey-based respiratory and anaesthesia products developer, from 2013 to 2020.

Chair Bruno Holthof said Lee's experience in the US market was a key factor in his selection: "His industry experience, especially in the US, makes him the ideal person to lead the business as we drive further growth from what is a well-established platform."

Lee said he joins "at an exciting time" and looks forward to building on the company's position in infection prevention globally.
