EnSilica (AIM:ENSI) has secured follow-on orders worth €1.1 million from a European satellite communications customer for its ENS92040 digital beamformer chip.

The AIM-listed fabless chipmaker, which designs microchips for the space, communications, industrial and automotive markets, said the sum splits into €350,000 for additional samples and €750,000 towards product enhancements. It builds on a longer relationship: the European Space Agency backed the chip's development with €5 million in February 2023, and the same customer placed an initial €2.5 million order that August.

The ENS92040 is a distributed digital beamformer designed for electronically steerable flat-panel satellite terminals, enabling scalable, low-power hardware for low, medium and geostationary orbit broadband constellations.
