Technology stocks across London had a busy news day, led by a fresh treasury purchase from a Bitcoin-holding software group and a sharp upgrade to guidance from a public sector digital transformation specialist. Smaller names also delivered: a security screening group landed three new orders spanning two continents, a life sciences investee cleared a key diagnostic milestone, and a loyalty technology provider expanded its footprint in the Americas.

Smarter Web Company adds £5.2m of Bitcoin to treasury

Smarter Web Company (LSE:SWC), the London-listed software and digital services provider, has bought a further 83 Bitcoin for £5.2m, paying an average price of £62,676 per coin. The purchase lifts total treasury holdings to 2,830 BTC, against a net average purchase price across the whole treasury of £81,979 per coin, with shares rising 4.475% to 53.7p on the update. The acquisition is the latest step under "The 10 Year Plan," the company's medium-term strategy of building a Bitcoin treasury alongside its core web design, development and online marketing business.

The company reported a quarter-to-date BTC Yield of 1.98%, the key performance indicator it uses to track changes in the ratio of total Bitcoin holdings to fully diluted shares in issue, as a gauge of whether its buying is accretive to shareholders. Gross Bitcoin purchases to date stand at £240.75m, against gross sales of £8.75m, leaving net Bitcoin purchases of £232m; the sales figure reflects July's disposal of the entire position tied to the Smarter Convert instrument, when the company repaid $11.7m owed to entities linked to TOBAM Group roughly two weeks ahead of scheduled maturity by selling 177.89 BTC. Its Coinbase Strategic Credit Facility, secured against the Bitcoin holdings, remains in place and is repayable at the company's discretion without additional charges.

The company said it will continue to review capital allocation priorities and disclose any material drawdowns or repayments in future regulatory announcements, underlining how central the treasury strategy has become to its disclosure rhythm.

The steady drumbeat of purchases, now totalling £232m net against a market capitalisation that trades on sentiment toward both the core services business and Bitcoin's price, means investors are increasingly pricing Smarter Web Company as a leveraged proxy for the cryptocurrency rather than purely a digital services operator. The widening gap between the average price paid on this latest tranche and the net average across the whole treasury suggests the company is still finding opportunities to average down, but it also raises the stakes on BTC Yield as the metric by which shareholders will judge whether the strategy is genuinely accretive rather than simply increasing exposure.

TPXimpact lifts FY27 guidance on record first-half trading

Tpximpact Holdings (AIM:TPX), the AIM-listed digital transformation partner to the UK public sector, expects to report first-half revenue of at least £57m for the six months to 30 September, up at least 57% from £36.2m a year earlier. Shares jumped 16.049% to 94.0p as the market digested the scale of the improvement. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to reach at least £7.5m, up at least 134% on the £3.2m reported in the same period last year, lifting the adjusted EBITDA margin to roughly 13% from 8.8%.

The group swung to a net cash position of £1m at the half-year end, against net debt of £4.2m at the start of the financial year, well ahead of its prior guidance to eliminate net debt by the end of FY27. On the back of this performance, TPXimpact raised its FY27 guidance, now targeting revenue of at least £105m, up from previous guidance of "healthy double-digit revenue growth", and adjusted EBITDA of at least £14m, up from a prior floor of £12m.

The upgrade follows a three-year turnaround completed in FY26, during which the company consolidated nine divisions into a leaner structure, and it marks a significant inflection point: a business that was carrying net debt a year ago has not only turned cash positive but is now raising full-year targets twice in short succession, a credibility signal that should support the re-rating in the shares.

Thruvision wins three orders across UK and Asian markets

Thruvision Group (AIM:THRU) has secured three new orders for its 81 Series people-screening product, spanning UK retail distribution, the UK prisons sector and a new country in Asia, with the news sending shares up 22.059% to 2.075p. The UK orders followed short proof-of-concept trials: a two-week trial preceded a WalkTHRU screening lane order for a UK distribution centre run by a UAE-headquartered global logistics provider that has previously bought Thruvision equipment for a European site, while a one-week trial preceded a SpotCHECK order for deployment by a privately-run UK prison.

In Asia, the Group's regional partner purchased a SpotCHECK solution for deployment in a new Asian country, extending Thruvision's geographic footprint beyond its existing base of more than 30 countries. Thruvision's walk-through systems use AI-based detection to spot concealed metallic and non-metallic items at high-throughput checkpoints, serving government and commercial customers worldwide.

"We are pleased to have secured these three further orders, each supporting an important element of our growth strategy," said Victoria Balchin, chief executive of Thruvision.

Truetide's Paraytec clears second-phase hurdle in lung cancer breath test

Truetide (AIM:TRUE) announced that its wholly owned investee Paraytec has successfully completed Phase 2 of a feasibility programme with US-based VosBio, testing whether breath samples can be used to detect early signs of lung cancer. Shares in the AIM-listed investment company, which holds Paraytec outright and is working to identify and incubate commercially viable diagnostic technologies through it, traded at 2.95p.

Phase 2 set out to show that breath condensate collected with VosBio's Universal Breath Collector contains recoverable extracellular vesicle-like particles, and that these can be measured consistently on Paraytec's CX300 fluorescence detection platform. Paraytec reported successful recovery of the particles, a workable sample-preparation method for reproducible CX300 readings, baseline characterisation of particle number and size, and stable signals with negligible carryover between samples. "The collaboration and the feasibility programme funded by VosBio are progressing well," said Trevor Brown, chief executive of Truetide.

Clearing this stage de-risks the technical feasibility question at the heart of the VosBio partnership, moving Paraytec a step closer to validating a non-invasive screening tool in a field, early lung cancer detection, where unmet clinical need remains substantial; the next phase will need to show the platform can translate these laboratory signals into clinically meaningful diagnostic performance.
