Board changes and exploration ambitions defined a quiet session across the small-cap oil and gas space. Angus Energy restructured its leadership team as its shares fell sharply, while Sunda Energy pressed ahead with a new permit application in New Zealand aimed at domestic gas supply.

Angus Energy elevates Pearson to the board

Angus Energy (LSE:ANGS) has promoted Ross Pearson, its Director of Wells and Subsurface, to the board as Chief Operating Officer and executive director, effective immediately. The move brings the UK onshore oil and gas producer's technical leadership directly into boardroom decision-making. Shares in Angus Energy fell 25.0% to 0.18p on the day, with Carlos Fernandes also named among the company's leadership figures in the announcement.

Sunda Energy targets New Zealand gas supply

Sunda Energy (AIM:SNDA) has applied for a gas exploration permit in New Zealand, a move chief executive Andy Butler said aligns with the New Zealand government's push to bolster domestic gas supply and energy security. Sunda shares traded at 1.075p as the company positioned the application as a strategic fit with current policy direction in the country.
