Costain Group (LSE:COST) has been selected by Transport for London as one of three contractors on its Infrastructure Improvement Framework, which carries a total value of approximately £700m.

The framework runs for two years with an option to extend for a further two years, and will see Costain, the engineering and infrastructure group, provide design, engineering, programme delivery and supply chain management for major transport projects across the capital.

"We are a trusted, long-term partner of Transport for London, and our growing relationship is testament to our proven track record in delivering best-in-class infrastructure services across the capital," said Alex Vaughan, Chief Executive Officer.

Planned work under the multi-discipline framework includes upgrades such as South Kensington tube station and projects to enable TfL's step-free access programme.

The award extends Costain's partnership with TfL to more than 25 years and follows recent road projects including the A40 Westway refurbishment and an ongoing refurbishment at Brent Cross Interchange.

Projects will be awarded through the framework over the two-year term, with the supplier list available should TfL exercise the two-year extension.
