Metlen eyes Athens listing for infrastructure arm

Metlen Energy Metals (LSE:MTLN) told investors it is reviewing strategic options for METKA Group, including a potential listing on Euronext Athens, as it continues consolidating its infrastructure-related activities into a single standalone company.

The London-listed critical and rare metals group is folding its construction arm METKA ATE, its concessions and public-private partnership investments through M Concessions, and its facility management business Unison into METKA, which it envisages as a dedicated infrastructure platform spanning Greece and Southeast Europe.

The move follows Metlen's recent announcement of the spin-off of its PPP and concession activities into M Concessions, part of a broader corporate transformation separating the group's infrastructure interests from its energy and metals operations.

Metlen said the strategic review aims to give METKA additional capital to support its growth and expansion, strengthening its self-funding capacity and financial autonomy, with the platform positioned to pursue opportunities in infrastructure, PPPs, concessions, real estate, logistics, water and environmental projects.

Should it proceed with a listing, Metlen said it expects to retain majority control of METKA, which would remain its dedicated infrastructure platform while pursuing its own growth opportunities.
