ECR Minerals finds wider gold structure at Lolworth

New soil sampling at the Australian gold explorer's Lolworth project points to a gold-bearing structure extending well beyond the area tested by maiden drilling.

ECR Minerals (AIM:ECR), the AIM-listed gold exploration company focused on Australia, said fresh soil sampling results at its 100%-owned Lolworth Project in North Queensland suggest the gold-bearing structural system runs significantly beyond ground already tested by drilling.

The company received the remaining 1,002 assay results from a roughly 1,500-sample soil programme at the Uncle Terry prospect, part of the wider 946 square kilometre Lolworth licence.

Thirty-one samples returned gold values of 100 parts per billion (ppb) or higher, with a peak of 608 ppb, results the geological team considers a strong anomaly.

The data points to a broader NNW-trending gold structure and identifies a second, parallel gold trend to the north-east of Uncle Terry.

ECR's maiden reverse circulation drilling programme in 2025, comprising 28 holes across Uncle Terry and Gorge Creek West, had already confirmed shallow gold and silver mineralisation, including 2m at 3.57 g/t gold and 4m at 7.18 g/t silver.

The main NNW structure may also extend south towards similarly aligned structures at Gorge Creek West.

"These structures have not yet been fully tested by drilling," said chief geologist Adam Jones, adding that a broader diamond core drilling programme would test the gold system at depth and across its interpreted width.

Chairman Nick Tulloch said the gold component of the system "may be considerably broader than the area that we initially drilled."

Further details of a planned drilling programme will follow as planning progresses.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

ECR Minerals' soil sampling at Lolworth has identified a gold-bearing structure significantly wider than the area covered by its 2025 maiden drilling, with 31 samples returning ≥100 ppb gold (peak 608 ppb) and a second parallel trend detected to the north-east. This extends the exploration target beyond Uncle Terry into Gorge Creek West and potentially south, setting up a broader diamond core drilling programme to test the system at depth—a direct expansion of the discovery footprint announced in July.

Investment case

The wider structural interpretation materially increases the exploration upside at Lolworth by moving from point-source drilling validation to a multi-kilometre-scale target system. However, this remains early-stage delineation; the company has not yet drilled the newly identified parallel trend or tested the full interpreted width, so the economic significance of the broader structure remains unquantified.
