Synergia Energy (AIM:SYN) on Wednesday told investors that its planned C-79 well at the Cambay production-sharing contract in India now faces a spud delay to February or March 2027, pushed back from the late November target set a month earlier.
The London-listed oil and gas explorer, which holds a 50% working interest in the Cambay PSC in Gujarat, said the new well targets the Eocene formation near its existing C-19z producer and would use hydraulic fracturing once drilled.
Synergia and joint venture partner Antelopus Selan Energy (ASEL) remain in broad agreement on the Eocene well target, programme and fracking design, but ASEL told Synergia that no firm mobilisation date exists for the DEEP Industries rig earmarked for the job, which is currently assigned to ONGC in Assam.
Synergia first disclosed the agreed Eocene target on 1 October, when ASEL had estimated a late November spud, itself the product of months of technical discussions between the two parties on well design and targeting.
The company said it will update the market on C-79's timing once ASEL, the operator, provides further information.
