Balfour Beatty (LSE:BBY), the international infrastructure group, has appointed Melody Meyer and Sandra Stash as non-executive directors with effect from 13 July, both also joining the Remuneration Committee.
Meyer spent 37 years at Chevron, ending her executive career as President of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production, where she oversaw major capital programmes and a workforce of more than 11,000 people across multiple jurisdictions. She currently sits on the board of AbbVie Inc.
Stash brings more than four decades in the global energy sector, including roles as Executive Vice President of Safety, Operations and Engineering at Tullow Oil, and senior positions at Talisman Energy and BP America.
Both appointees are based in the United States, a geography Balfour Beatty has identified as central to its profitable growth strategy.
Chair Lord Charles Allen said the pair "bring significant international experience and strong track records in major projects, safety critical delivery, operational performance, risk and governance," adding that their US base would help strengthen the board as the group grows its American operations.
