First Tin PLC (LSE:1SN) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Taronga Mines Pty, has formally lodged the Response to Submissions (RTS) report for the Taronga Tin Project, advancing the project towards Development Approval and maintaining a streamlined NSW Government assessment pathway.

First Tin, which focusses on advancing low‑capex projects in Australia and Germany, and says the response provides detailed clarifications to submissions and incorporates feedback to optimise the project design.

"The lodgement of the RTS report represents another major milestone for the Taronga Tin Project and further de‑risks the pathway to development," said Bill Scotting, First Tin's chief executive.

Specifically, it said the RTS addresses submissions from key NSW agencies, including the Environment Protection Authority, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Heritage NSW and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Because only four objections were received during the EIS public exhibition, the project will not be referred to the Independent Planning Commission, which First Tin says materially reduces anticipated approval timelines, execution risk and permitting costs.

DPHI will coordinate final departmental consultation on the RTS, after which departments will complete their assessment and prepare draft approval conditions for TMPL to review ahead of a formal Development Approval determination.
