Rentokil Initial (LSE:RTO), the pest control and hygiene services group, restructured its operations into two geography-based divisions, North America and International, to strengthen accountability for performance across the business.

The International Division combines Europe, the UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and MENAT, Latin America and Pacific into a single reporting line.

Phill Wood, with the company since 2006 and head of its UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa region since 2009, takes on the International Division chief executive role with immediate effect, adding it to his existing responsibilities.

Rafael Carrasco, who joined as Chief Executive Officer of North America on 3 August, previously served as President of WM Healthcare Solutions, where he oversaw operations spanning more than 200 branches and over 10,000 staff.

The company also named Matt Jochim as Group Chief Transformation Officer, effective 7 September, joining from McKinsey, where he spent 20 years including as Partner leading the UK and Ireland Operations Practice.

Jochim will join the Executive Leadership Team and report directly to Chief Executive Mike Duffy.

"Our focus is now firmly on execution and delivering the improved performance we know this business is capable of through better customer outcomes, driving growth and the long-term shareholder value creation opportunity," Duffy said.

The moves follow priorities Rentokil Initial set out at its interim results: intensifying customer focus, sales and operational excellence, and simplifying the business.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Rentokil Initial has restructured into two divisions—North America and International—with Phill Wood leading the latter and Rafael Carrasco (ex-WM Healthcare Solutions) heading North America. The company also appointed Matt Jochim, a 20-year McKinsey partner, as Group Chief Transformation Officer reporting to CEO Mike Duffy. The moves are framed as sharpening execution against priorities set at interim results: customer focus, sales and operational excellence, and business simplification.

Investment case

The restructuring and senior hires signal management's intent to tighten accountability and operational discipline, but the announcement contains no financial targets, timeline for improvement, or quantified performance metrics. Against organic revenue growth of 3.6% for H1 2026 and North America pest control growth of only 2.6% in the same period, the reshuffle is a governance move rather than a strategic pivot—its impact on shareholder returns will depend entirely on execution.
