Mila Resources (LSE:MILA), the Australia-focused gold and copper resource development company, has started target generation for its next drilling phase at the Yarrol Gold Project in Queensland.

The work builds on roughly 5,000 metres of drilling completed to date, which confirmed the scale and continuity of the Yarrol gold system and showed mineralisation remains open in multiple directions.

Mila has partnered with London-based AI geoscience specialist MINML, which has calibrated its machine learning platform using Mila's geological interpretations from the past 18 months alongside historical exploration data.

The updated model will be used to delineate targets beyond the one kilometre of strike already tested, across a 20-kilometre fault system with potential for further mineralised bodies.

Chief operating officer Alastair Goodship is on site overseeing final target selection and preparations for the funded 1,400-metre programme.

The company is pursuing a two-track strategy: near-term drilling to extend known mineralisation and support an updated mineral resource estimate, alongside district-scale testing of the wider Yarrol Fault corridor.

Separately, interpretation of recently completed induced polarisation surveys at copper targets on the Monal licences is ongoing, with an update expected shortly.
