Angus Energy secures rig for Brockham well workover

by tickstock newsroom · Editor JMA

Angus Energy (AIM:ANGS) told investors that preparations for a planned workover of the BRX4Z well at its Brockham oil field are well advanced, with a rig now secured and mobilisation expected in early November.

The London-listed onshore oil and gas producer holds an 80% interest in Brockham and operates the field.

All long-lead items needed for the workover have been ordered, and the operation itself is expected to take around three weeks once the rig arrives on site.

The programme is designed to bring the suspended BRX4Z wellbore back onto production, with work including perforation and acidization of the Portland reservoir interval before the well is completed for production.

Angus had flagged preparations to restart BRX4Z from the Portland reservoir in its second-quarter update in July, when Brockham oil production ran at 4,027 barrels for the quarter at 100% operational efficiency.

The company said the workover forms part of its strategy to maximise recovery and value from its existing operated asset base through targeted investment in wells and infrastructure.

Angus said it will provide a further update once operations begin and as the workover programme progresses.
