Wishbone Gold (LSE:WSBN), the AIM and Aquis-listed gold and copper explorer, has applied for a new tenement (E 45/7348) covering 118km2 in the Havieron South-East area of Western Australia's Paterson Province.

The application takes Wishbone's total tenement portfolio in the Telfer area to 628km2, positioning the company as one of the largest tenement holders near the Telfer and Havieron mines.

The tenement hosts 11km of the Havieron Thrust Fault, a structural feature that controls high-grade gold-copper mineralisation at Greatland's nearby Havieron deposit, located roughly 45km east of Telfer.

Ed Mead, Wishbone Gold WA director, said the fault acts as a deep crustal pathway for the magmatic-hydrothermal fluids and mafic intrusions linked to the region's gold-copper breccia systems.

The Havieron deposit itself lies hidden beneath 400 to 450 metres of younger sedimentary cover, discovered along structural corridors tied to the same thrust system.

Once granted, exploration will target extensions, splays and parallel structures along the Havieron Thrust corridor in search of similar blind gold-copper deposits.

The tenement will move towards grant and become live in early 2027, once incorporated into Wishbone's Native Title Agreement.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Wishbone Gold has applied for a new 118km² tenement in Western Australia's Paterson Province covering 11km of the Havieron Thrust Fault, expanding its Telfer-area holdings to 628km². The fault controls high-grade gold-copper mineralisation at Greatland's nearby Havieron deposit 45km away, and the company plans to explore for similar blind deposits once the tenement is granted in early 2027.

Investment case

The application extends Wishbone's exposure to a proven structural setting for gold-copper deposits, but the tenement will not become live until early 2027 and exploration remains prospective—no drilling or resource definition is imminent. This is a land-staking move that positions the company for future exploration rather than a near-term value catalyst.
