NCC Group (LSE:NCC) has been selected to join the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, an invite-only initiative giving participants access to OpenAI's frontier cyber capabilities.
The Manchester-headquartered cybersecurity consulting group will work with a version of GPT-5.5 configured specifically to explore cyber resilience use cases, with an initial focus on internal research using security testing data.
NCC Group's technical teams will assess the model's capabilities and provide structured feedback to OpenAI, with all work conducted within controlled environments under defined governance safeguards.
The company said the program will support efforts to help defenders discover vulnerabilities, strengthen security workflows, and improve client resilience, building on a research base that already exceeds 1,000 dedicated days annually.
"Through our participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, NCC Group is researching ways to apply GPT-5.5 capabilities to our services to help experienced defenders discover vulnerabilities, strengthen security workflows, and improve resilience for clients," said CEO Mike Maddison.
No financial terms or commercial arrangements were disclosed alongside the partnership.
