Craneware (AIM:CRW), the AIM-listed healthcare financial performance software provider, reported revenue of $206m for the year ended 30 June, broadly flat against $205.7m in the prior year.

Earnings (adjusted EBITDA) rose 3% to $67.1m, lifting the margin to 33% from 32%, while statutory pre-tax profit increased 7% to $25.8m.

Annual recurring revenue held steady at $185m, but net revenue retention slipped to 100% from 107%, as customers were unable to capitalise on the group's 340B Shelter offering and signed licence revenue from its 340B rebate solution remained deferred pending regulatory clarity.

Operating cash conversion strengthened to 98% of adjusted EBITDA from 94%, with total cash of $54.8m, though bank debt rose to $43.5m from $27.7m following a drawdown to help fund a $25m share buyback. The board proposed a total dividend of 32p per share, unchanged from last year, comprising a final dividend of 17p (FY25: 18.5p).

Post year-end, on 20 July, Craneware identified and contained a cyber security incident involving unauthorised access and data exfiltration, with no disruption to customer services. The company has since moved into a remediation phase, with financial outcomes still to be quantified.

"The cyber incident has led us to reset our near-term financial expectations to provide certainty to stakeholders, but it does not change our confidence in the Group's long-term opportunity," said chief executive Keith Neilson.

The board has reset FY27 revenue expectations to the equivalent of current ARR, around $185m, with 340B-related tailwinds expected to build in the second half as regulatory clarity emerges, excluded from current guidance.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Craneware reported flat FY26 revenue of $206m with margin expansion, but reset FY27 guidance to $185m (equivalent to current ARR) after a post-year-end cyber security incident involving data exfiltration and ongoing 340B regulatory delays that have deferred customer revenue recognition. The company's net revenue retention collapsed to 100% from 107%, signalling customer hesitation on its 340B offerings, and management has explicitly reset near-term expectations to provide certainty—a material step that undercuts near-term growth visibility despite confidence in long-term opportunity.

Investment case

The cyber incident and regulatory headwinds have forced Craneware to guide FY27 revenue flat to FY26, eliminating near-term growth expectations and introducing execution risk around remediation costs and customer confidence. While the company maintains 33% EBITDA margins and strong cash conversion (98%), the reset guidance and deteriorating net revenue retention (from 107% to 100%) suggest the 340B tailwinds management has long flagged remain uncertain and deferred into H2 FY27 at earliest.
