Defence Holdings (LSE: ALRT), the UK software-led defence technology group, has completed contracting on its second customer engagement with the UK Government.
Delivery starts immediately with an initial six-month pilot, structured similarly to the company's first UK Government contract, during which Defence Holdings will work directly with customer stakeholders. The company has not disclosed the customer's specific requirements, operational application or commercial value, citing the confidential and security-sensitive nature of the work.
The award follows an initial announcement flagged in prior market updates and marks the company's second revenue-bearing engagement with the same customer base.
Chief executive Andrew Roughan said the deal demonstrates "continued progress in converting customer engagement into contracted activity", adding that it gives the company "another opportunity" to develop sovereign software capabilities against real-world requirements.
With two UK Government engagements now underway, the company said it is increasing contracted delivery across the group while continuing to build technology capabilities alongside end users.
Management frames the approach as a pathway from initial development and testing toward wider operational adoption, aiming to build a diversified portfolio of equity and revenue across the sovereign defence technology sector.
No timeline for conversion beyond the initial pilot period has been given.
