Debenhams Group (AIM:DEBS), the online fashion, home and beauty platform formerly known as boohoo (AIM:DEBS), has reappointed Iain McDonald as Non-Executive Chair with immediate effect.
McDonald previously sat on the board between June 2017 and February 2026, and returns as Tim Morris steps down from the role he has held since May 2021.
The company said the changes are designed to align the board with its priorities for the next phase of strategy, as the operational turnaround reaches completion and focus shifts to rebuilding equity value.
Michael Stewart, a member of Chrysalis Investment Partners with 13 years in investment management, and Stephen Rothwell, founder of AIM-quoted Eagle Eye Solutions Group, join as independent non-executive directors.
Stewart previously worked as lead analyst for the investment adviser to Chrysalis Investments, backing companies including Starling Bank, Klarna and Featurespace.
The board said McDonald and Stewart add investment market experience alongside senior independent director John Goold, while Rothwell brings technology expertise to support the group's capital-light, AI-enabled platform ambitions.
McDonald holds an interest in 17.85m shares, including 16.67m held through Belerion Capital's New Wave Fund, while Rothwell holds 300,354 shares.
"I am a material investor both personally and via the funds managed by my business, Belerion Capital Group, and this is a measure of the degree to which I believe in the potential of the business," McDonald said.
Chief Executive Dan Finley thanked Morris for his contribution during a period in which "the business has been significantly strengthened".
