Synergia agrees target for Cambay C-79 well

Synergia Energy (AIM:SYN) said it has agreed with Cambay production-sharing contract joint venture partner Antelopus Selan Energy (ASEL) on the primary target for the planned new C-79 well, following months of technical discussions.

The well will target the Eocene formation close to the existing producing C-19z well, drilled as a vertical or deviated well incorporating hydraulic fracturing of the Eocene reservoir.

Synergia holds a 50% working interest in the Cambay PSC in Gujarat, India, which has produced an average of around 148 barrels of oil per day across its legacy wells, with recent workovers and pipeline tie-ins lifting gas output toward a targeted 200 Mscfd.

ASEL plans to use a DEEP Industries rig, with spud currently estimated for late November.

The C-79 well has been a central near-term priority for Synergia, with the company and ASEL having spent recent months in detailed discussions on the well's design and targeting before settling on the Eocene oil leg near C-19z.
