Physiomics wins £102,000 drug modelling contract

Physiomics (AIM:PYC) told investors it has secured a new £102,000 contract for model-informed drug development (MIDD) modelling, incorporating pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) analysis.

The AIM-listed company provides mathematical modelling, data science and biostatistics services to support drug development and personalised medicine.

Finance director Ian Bagnall said the award takes the total value of contracts announced since May 2026 past £970,000, a figure he compared with the £941,222 of revenue Physiomics reported in its annual report for the year ended 30 June.

"This contract is yet another example of our team's ability to win new business, which is very pleasing to see," Bagnall said, adding that the cost reductions taken in the year, investment in IT systems and a strong project pipeline support further progress this financial year.

Bagnall also addressed investor speculation that the company accepts loss-making contracts, saying no work is accepted that would knowingly result in a loss on the programme. He said increased use of external contractors had added to costs in the first half of the last financial year, a trend that has since been significantly reduced, with the new team focused on growing revenue while maintaining tight cost controls.

The award follows a £119,000 MIDD contract and non-binding heads of terms to explore wider commercial applications for the company's personalised dosing software, both disclosed earlier this month.
