MedPal AI (AIM:MPAL) shares surged 7.4% to 2.685 after the company said it dispensed a company-best 42,250 prescriptions in May.
An operational update released earlier today said May's throughput indicated an annualised pharmacy turnover run rate in excess of £5 million and pharmacy gross margin exceeded 34% in the six months to 28 February.
The AI-powered integrated digital health and pharmacy company has now dispensed more than 250,000 prescription items since launch, and May's total exceeded the prior monthly record of 41,000, the company said in an operational update.
MedPal said pharmacy gross margin strengthened to over 34% in the six months ended 28 February as volumes scaled, and that May's throughput implies an annualised pharmacy turnover run rate in excess of £5 million.
"To reach this scale in such a short period is a powerful validation of our automated, technology-led model, and the Board sees a clear runway for continued, profitable growth," said Jason Drummond, Chief Executive Officer.
Management said significant spare capacity remains across its automated dispensing operations, which it sees as scope for further profitable volume growth.
