Two small-cap tech names moved on dealmaking today, with corporate development rather than trading updates driving the news flow. Insig AI struck its first digital asset investment, while MedPal AI pressed ahead with consolidation in the care home software space.

Insig AI takes stake in Belgian micropayments start-up

Insig AI (INSG) has committed €300,000 to 4Mica, a Belgian firm building micropayments infrastructure for AI agents, marking the company's first move into digital assets. Insig AI has earmarked a further €1m for the target contingent on 4Mica completing a substantial fundraising round, giving it scope to scale the position if the start-up's capital raise progresses. Shares in Insig AI slipped 3.0% to 14.55p on the news.

MedPal buys eMARx to round out care home platform

MedPal AI (MPAL) has acquired eMARx, a move chief executive Jason Drummond said completes the group's health platform for care homes. Drummond said the deal "gives the Group a software-led route into thousands of additional care homes beyond its existing relationships," positioning the enlarged business to expand its footprint without relying solely on direct relationship-building. MedPal AI shares edged up 0.59% to 3.42p.
