Kendrick Resources (LSE:KEN) reported fresh portable X-ray fluorescence results from five diamond drill holes at its Teufelskuppe rare earth project in Namibia.
The AIM-listed explorer is developing the Teufelskuppe carbonatite complex, targeting light rare earth oxides (LREO) used in magnets for electric vehicles and renewable energy applications.
Holes TKDD014 to TKDD018 tested four separate mineralised structures across the project, the TK4, TK5 and TK7 sills and the TK1 dyke. Continuous mineralised widths ranged from 10.50m to 36.75m, including 2.24% LREO over 36.75m in the TK5 sill and 2.87% LREO over 33.75m in TK1.
The strongest single intercept came from TKDD017 in the TK1 dyke, which returned 4.77% LREO over 19.25m, including a peak grade of 5.80% LREO. TKDD015 ended in mineralisation after intersecting bands as high as 4.19% LREO before running into a 33.75m continuous package at 2.87% LREO from 46.50m depth.
Colin Bird, Kendrick's chairman, said the results were consistent with prior reporting: "the regular appearance of higher grades over significant intervals is becoming a common feature of the complex."
The company is progressing verification of its in-house mineral resource estimate toward JORC 2012 compliance, alongside the ongoing diamond and reverse circulation drilling campaign testing the depth extent of mineralisation beneath the surface.
