Tern (LSE:TERN), the AIM-listed investor focused on value creation from Internet of Things technology businesses, said Talking Medicines has launched a new "Intent to Prescribe" application within its DrugVoice platform.

The new application links Talking Medicines' Message Resonance Score with near-real-time point-of-care data, aiming to show which healthcare professionals align with pharmaceutical messaging and whether that alignment correlates with intent to prescribe.

The tool is enabled through new partnerships with point-of-care data providers, addressing what Talking Medicines describes as a gap in traditional reach and engagement metrics used by pharmaceutical marketing teams.

"The bigger opportunity is understanding whether a message resonated, whether that resonance is associated with intent to prescribe, and where that intent could translate into more appropriate patients reaching treatment," said Jo Halliday, chief executive of Talking Medicines.

The application allows pharmaceutical companies and agency partners to identify HCPs most aligned with priority messages, monitor shifts around product launches and campaigns, and flag gaps between prescribing intent and actual behaviour.

Intent to Prescribe is one of several planned uses for the Message Resonance Score framework, which Talking Medicines also applies to benchmarking positioning, validating personas and comparing resonance across opinion leaders and patients.

The Intent to Prescribe application is now available through tailored DrugVoice programs for pharmaceutical companies and their agency partners.

Tern holds 23.8% of Talking Medicines, a data science and AI company serving the life sciences sector.

Talking Medicines, 23.8%-owned by Tern, has launched an 'Intent to Prescribe' tool within its DrugVoice platform, linking message resonance scores to point-of-care data to help pharmaceutical companies gauge whether healthcare professionals' alignment with their messaging correlates with prescribing intent. Investment case

The launch demonstrates progress in Talking Medicines' product roadmap and validates its Message Resonance Score framework as a foundation for multiple use cases, which could strengthen the investee's value proposition to pharma clients. However, the announcement contains no revenue, customer adoption, or financial metrics that would signal material impact on Tern's portfolio valuation.
