Helium One Global (AIM:HE1) and partner Blue Star Helium sealed an agreement to extend an existing offtake agreement, which was due to expire on 31 August, through to 31 March 2027.

The agreement, first announced on 4 June, continues to cover all helium produced at the Pinon Canyon processing plant in Las Animas County, Colorado. Pricing is fixed for the extended term and continues to reflect prevailing US helium market conditions, according to the operator.

Blue Star confirmed a fourth tube trailer of helium has been delivered from the Pinon Canyon Plant, with a fifth currently being filled. Trailer exchanges are proceeding on a scheduled basis, while negotiations continue on longer-term offtake arrangements beyond the first quarter of 2027.

The initial Galactica wells were tied into first gas in the fourth quarter of 2025, with further wells brought onstream through 2026 for both helium and CO2 production.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Blue Star Helium has extended its offtake agreement for Galactica-Pegasus helium production through Q1 2027, seven months beyond the original August 2026 expiry. This locks in revenue visibility for Helium One's 50% stake in the Colorado project at fixed pricing aligned with US market conditions, while the operator continues negotiating longer-term arrangements beyond that date. The extension follows first sales from the US project in July 2026 and signals sustained commercial traction from the Pinon Canyon plant.

Investment case

The extension de-risks near-term cash flow from Galactica-Pegasus and validates the offtake model at a time when the project is ramping production (a fourth trailer delivered, a fifth being filled). However, the buyer remains undisclosed and the agreement is still interim; the real test is whether Blue Star secures the longer-term deals it is now negotiating, which will determine whether Galactica-Pegasus becomes a material cash contributor to Helium One or remains a near-term revenue bridge.
