Cloudbreak Discovery plc (LSE:CDL) said it has submitted a Program of Work to the Western Australia Department of Mines to enable an initial 3,000–5,000m drilling program at its Darlot West Gold Project, with the POW expected to be granted in the coming weeks.
The company said the drill program will test structural targets defined by recent high‑resolution magnetics, regolith mapping and surface exploration, and noted the project lies about 10km from the Darlot Gold Mine and 20km from Northern Star’s Thunderbox. Cloudbreak plans field work to site RC drill pads, further rock chip sampling and mapping ahead of drilling.
Cloudbreak has completed ultra‑fine fraction (UFF) soil sampling and Sentinel‑2 regolith mapping across the project and said a prospect‑scale UFF survey was done near recent high‑grade rock chips — eleven samples assayed over 10 g/t Au and up to 65.75 g/t Au — with results expected in 2–3 weeks and wider follow‑up surveys to commence thereafter.
At the Crofton Project the company said its 54 rock‑chip samples confirmed historical high grades, returning 15 samples >1 g/t and a maximum of 162.25 g/t Au; Cloudbreak plans geological mapping and an extensive soil program over about 10 km2 once the wet season ends in April, with heritage surveys to start soon.
Tom Evans, Cloudbreak’s managing director, commented: "The focus of our gold exploration plans for 2026 is on disciplined execution and delivering tangible results." The company said it is fully funded for all planned exploration activities.
