GEO Exploration (AIM:GEO) said a trial soil geochemistry survey at its Gorge Project in Western Australia returned a peak assay of 7.74 g/t gold, or 7,739 parts per billion, at the Gorge Mine target.
The AIM-listed explorer, which holds the 81 square kilometre licence through its wholly owned subsidiary Gorge Gold Pty roughly 110 kilometres west of Paraburdoo, detected gold in 244 of 245 samples collected during a site visit in May.
Five samples returned gold values above 1.0 g/t, a threshold the company described as extremely anomalous and potentially indicative of a high-grade gold system.
A separate peak result of 0.37 g/t gold came from the 401 Prospect target, where anomalism was linked to an east-west trending zone of quartz veining.
Pathfinder element analysis, including silver, molybdenum and arsenic, pointed to signatures consistent with both intrusion-related and orogenic gold mineral systems.
GEO plans to expand the survey to 1,188 sample sites on a 200 by 50 metre grid across the known five kilometre mineralised corridor, covering 12 priority targets identified from earlier airborne geophysics.
"The peak result of 7.74 g/t Au is an outstanding result for a soil geochemistry programme and highlights the strength of the gold response at Gorge Mine," said Omar Ahmad, chief executive officer.
The expanded programme is expected to refine targets ahead of a proposed maiden drilling campaign, which remains subject to heritage and government permitting approvals.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
GEO Exploration's trial soil survey at Gorge returned a peak of 7.74 g/t gold—well above the 1.0 g/t threshold the company flags as extremely anomalous—detected in 244 of 245 samples, validating the project's prospectivity ahead of an expanded 1,188-sample grid survey. This follows visible coarse gold reported from field reconnaissance on 18 June 2026, and the company now has the permits and geochemical roadmap to move toward maiden drilling.
The soil assay validates the Gorge Project's gold potential and de-risks early-stage target definition; the expanded survey and planned drilling campaign are the next steps to test whether the anomalies translate to mineable resource. GEO remains pre-revenue and early-stage, so execution risk on permitting and drilling results remains material.
