ECR Minerals (AIM:ECR), the Australian-focused gold exploration and development company, has started a multi-phase reconnaissance and target-generation programme at its 80%-owned Tuckanarra Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company is running the campaign with the Australian Prospectors and Leaseholders Association, whose members will carry out systematic field mapping, with the first phase costing ECR nothing extra directly.
Tuckanarra sits next to Odyssey Gold Ltd's reported 407,000-ounce JORC gold resource, and ECR has identified interpreted extensions of the same geological sequence on its own ground, alongside evidence of paleochannel-hosted gold potential.
An initial two-week field programme starts later this month, deploying around eight experienced personnel to follow up priority targets already identified, including one site where more than 100 small gold nuggets have been recovered near a historic mine shaft.
A larger second phase is planned for March 2027, involving up to 80 field personnel over a further two-week reconnaissance period.
The work will feed into ECR's existing Deep Ground Penetrating Radar programme at Tuckanarra, refining targets for future geophysics, trenching and drilling.
"The first stage of this programme will be undertaken at no additional direct cost to ECR, allowing us to preserve the funds we raised last year for higher-value follow-up activities," said Nick Tulloch, Chairman of ECR Minerals.
The next milestone is the completion of the August field campaign, ahead of the expanded programme scheduled for March 2027.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
ECR Minerals is launching a two-phase reconnaissance campaign at Tuckanarra in Western Australia, with the initial August field phase costing the company no direct additional expense through a partnership with the Australian Prospectors and Leaseholders Association. The project sits adjacent to Odyssey Gold's 407,000-ounce JORC resource, and ECR has identified geological extensions on its own 80%-owned ground; a larger second phase involving up to 80 personnel is planned for March 2027. The move preserves capital raised last year for higher-value follow-up work like geophysics and drilling.
The zero-cost first phase is a capital-efficient way to refine drill targets at a project with demonstrated gold potential, but the campaign remains early-stage reconnaissance; material value creation depends on the March 2027 phase results and subsequent drilling outcomes.
