Mears Group (LSE:MER) has been awarded a long-term contract with Moat Homes valued at more than £200m over an initial 10‑year period. The deal covers responsive and void maintenance plus planned works to roughly 20,000 homes across the South‑East of England and includes an option to extend for a further five years.

The group has been providing services to Moat since 2024 after an interim appointment under emergency procurement provisions; the award formalises that relationship and converts it into a multi-year framework for delivery across Moat’s estate.

The contract diversifies Mears’ local government pipeline and sits alongside its broader UK housing footprint — the company manages and maintains around 450,000 homes and employs over 5,000 staff.

"I am delighted to see continuing strong momentum with a further important contract win. Securing this long-term contract with Moat reflects the strength of our operational performance and our disciplined, sustainable approach to bidding new work. The award strengthens our confidence in delivering growth in line with our medium‑term guidance in the local government division," Lucas Critchley, Chief Executive Officer, said.
