London BTC finds antimony potential at Nevada gold project

Historical data show a critical-mineral trend running into the company's Black Star claims, alongside gold grades of up to 16.23 g/t.

London BTC Company (LSE:BTC) said the gold and silver mineralisation it identified at its Black Star project in Nevada sits within the same mineralised corridor as a historical antimony occurrence located immediately south of its claims.

The AIM-listed gold and silver explorer disclosed the Black Star discovery on 15 July, with surface sampling returning grades up to 16.23 g/t gold and 50.5 g/t silver.

A review of US Geological Survey and Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology archive data found a historical sample 120 metres south of the claims grading above 1% antimony, or over 10,000 parts per million, a result that exceeded the analytical method's upper limit in 1985 testing.

The true grade remains unknown.

Antimony is designated a critical and strategic mineral by the US government, which has committed to a $12 billion stockpile programme backed by $10 billion from the Export-Import Bank and $2 billion in private funding, according to Reuters.

EXIM approved a $2.9 billion loan in May for Perpetua Resources' Stibnite Gold Project in Idaho, a comparable gold-antimony development.

"A trend holding over 1% antimony and up to 16.23 grams per tonne gold is exactly the type of asset we want in our portfolio," said David Lenigas, the company's chairman.

Antimony was not included in the assay suite for the 2026 rock chip programme, which tested only for gold and silver, but will now be added as standard.

Field teams mobilise in late August, with gold-antimony sampling around Black Star a stated priority.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

London BTC has identified a gold-antimony mineralised corridor at its Black Star project in Nevada, with surface sampling grading up to 16.23 g/t gold alongside a historical antimony occurrence (>1% grade, 120 metres south) that the US government is actively incentivising through a $12 billion stockpile programme and critical-mineral financing. The company will add antimony to its standard assay suite and prioritise gold-antimony sampling when field teams mobilise in late August, converting an incidental discovery into a focused exploration target aligned with US strategic-mineral policy.

Investment case

The antimony angle materially widens Black Star's value proposition beyond gold-silver exploration alone, tapping into a US government-backed critical-mineral narrative with demonstrated capital appetite (evidenced by the $2.9 billion Perpetua Resources loan for a comparable gold-antimony asset). However, the true antimony grade remains unknown—the 1985 historical sample exceeded the analytical method's upper limit—so the scale of the antimony resource is unquantified until assay results from the August field programme are returned.
