Fusion Antibodies (AIM:FAB), an AIM-listed specialist in pre-clinical antibody discovery, engineering and supply, has received a notice of allowance from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for its patent application covering "Antibody Library and Method."
The application, filed under Canadian patent no. 3.12m, covers two families of antibodies and the method for designing such libraries, and is intended to complement the company's "Opti" designed antibody library offering across three service lines: antibody discovery, affinity maturation, and sequence optimisation.
A notice of allowance confirms that the claims are patentable but does not itself constitute a grant of patent rights; formal grant is expected once administrative requirements, including payment of the application fee, are completed.
Fusion is pursuing additional patent applications for its OptiMAL Library in Canada and in several other territories, including Europe and China.
