ATOME raises £24.6m to help fund Paraguay investment

ATOME has issued 41.07m new shares at 60p to raise about £24.64m, the proceeds to be used alongside US$5.8m of the group's own resources to fund a US$31m preferred-share subscription in ATOME Paraguay and for working capital.

ATOME (AIM:ATOM) has raised gross proceeds of approximately £24.64m through a 60p accelerated placing and related subscriptions that together issued 41.07m new shares to fund, with US$5.8m of the company's own resources, a US$31m subscription for Preferred Shares in ATOME Paraguay and to provide working capital and progress other projects.

The placing comprised 10.98m shares sold via an accelerated bookbuild at 60p raising approximately £6.59m, a price 0.8% below the 9 April mid-market close of 60.5p and 34.4% below the 22 April close of 91.5p.

In addition, 30.09m subscription shares were taken up at 60p, including a US$17m subscription from Casale S.A. For 20.99m shares, 5.77m management subscription shares and 3.34m company-arranged subscriptions.

A separate Retail Offer raised gross proceeds of £1m via the conditional issue of 1.67m retail shares through RetailBook after being scaled back in favour of existing shareholders.

Directors subscribed for 5.48m management shares (10.75% of existing capital) with senior management taking 289,322, and in aggregate directors will have subscribed 7.32m shares in the last 12 months (14.36% of existing capital).
