Mila Resources (LSE:MILA), the post-discovery gold and copper resource development company focused on Australia, has restarted drilling at its 100%-owned Yarrol Gold Project in Queensland.
The new nine-hole, 1,400-metre programme builds on roughly 5,000 metres of prior drilling that confirmed the scale and continuity of the Yarrol gold system, including intercepts of 24m at 29.4g/t gold from 8m and 17m at 5.47g/t gold from 42m. Holes will target depths of up to 200 metres, testing extensions to known mineralisation and new targets ranked using an AI-integrated geoscience platform from MINML, which the company engaged on 3 August.
The campaign forms part of Mila's staged strategy toward a Mineral Resource Estimate and preliminary economic studies at Yarrol, a project sitting along the 20km Yarrol Fault corridor.
"With all of this information at hand, we set the team a challenge: with the metres budgeted, balance conservative resource definition work without compromising blue sky scale of this system," said Mark Stephenson, Executive Director of Mila Resources.
Stephenson said investors should expect a busy period of news flow as assay results arrive in the coming weeks.
The company also plans metallurgical test work, updated resource modelling, and additional drilling along the Yarrol fault corridor during the fourth quarter, alongside scout drilling at its separate Monal project.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
Mila Resources has restarted a fully funded 1,400-metre drilling campaign at Yarrol, building on prior intercepts that confirmed gold mineralisation across a 20km fault system. The company is now using an AI-integrated geoscience platform to target extensions and new prospects, with assay results expected in coming weeks. This advance follows full ownership of Yarrol secured on 12 August 2026, removing optionality risk and clearing the path toward a formal Mineral Resource Estimate and preliminary economic studies.
The restart of drilling on a fully funded basis, combined with AI-assisted target selection and a stated roadmap toward resource definition and scoping studies, moves Yarrol from early-stage exploration toward a near-term value inflection. Execution risk remains material for a small explorer, but the company has now de-risked ownership and secured capital for this phase.
