Tomahawk Metals finds three new gold targets at Saturn project

A management site visit to Tomahawk Metals' Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia has identified three fresh prospect areas and previously unrecorded historical drilling.

Tomahawk Metals (Aquis:TMHK), the AQSE-listed explorer, said senior management's visit to its Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia last week has identified three distinct gold prospect areas.

The project previously returned documented gold grades of up to 12 grams per tonne, as announced on 1 July.

Satellite interpretation flagged extensive historic ground disturbance across the tenement, including trenching, costeaning and shallow shafts.

Keith Coughlan, Tomahawk's Perth-based director and consulting geologist at Dingo Prospecting, led an on-ground sampling programme to gauge the surface extent and potential grade of the mineralisation.

Rock chip samples have been sent to Intertek Minerals in Perth for analysis.

The team found evidence of drilling activity that had not previously appeared in historical records, alongside more extensive workings than documented.

Historical production at the St Clair workings totalled approximately 266 tonnes at an average grade of 12.03 g/t gold, yielding around 103 ounces, though the company cautioned this small parcel should not be taken as representative of any remaining mineralisation.

Multiple subparallel quartz veins across the site remain largely untested by drilling, including a around 450-metre strike of quartz veining and historical workings that has not been assessed using modern exploration methods.

The Saturn project is held entirely by Tomahawk Metals under a single exploration licence, E77/2914, covering four blocks within the Koolyanobbing Greenstone Belt.

Assay results from the rock chip samples will guide follow-up mapping, geochemical sampling and the identification of drill targets.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Tomahawk Metals' management visit to its Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia has identified three new gold prospect areas and uncovered previously unrecorded historical drilling activity, with rock chip samples now sent for assay. The find extends the known exploration footprint—satellite imagery revealed extensive historic ground disturbance (trenching, costeaning, shallow shafts) and multiple subparallel quartz veins, including a ~450-metre strike largely untested by modern methods—but remains early-stage; assay results will guide the next phase of mapping and drill target definition.

Investment case

The discovery of additional prospect areas and untested quartz veining expands Saturn's exploration potential, but the company is still in the sampling and target-definition phase. Historical production at St Clair (266 tonnes at 12.03 g/t, ~103 ounces) is explicitly cautioned as unrepresentative of remaining mineralisation, so near-term value hinges on assay results and whether modern drilling can replicate or exceed historical grades.
