Quantum Helium (AIM:QHE) has approved an application for a secondary quotation on the OTC Markets in the United States.
The helium, hydrogen and hydrocarbon company, which holds projects in the US and Australia, expects the application to complete within approximately four weeks, subject to standard processing.
The Sagebrush-1 well in Colorado continues to produce oil, helium-bearing gas and water as reservoir optimisation progresses, and the company expects to complete its first commercial sale of Leadville oil from the well this month.
Extended production testing has confirmed helium concentrations of 2.5%, reservoir pressures approaching virgin conditions, and a highly connected natural fracture system supporting both oil and helium flow.
Seven of the company's eight producing wells are currently online, generating revenue that supports its helium development strategy.
Once production stabilises, Quantum plans to re-engage independent reserves auditor Sproule ERCE to update its certified resource assessment, and is planning a multi-well drilling programme across its Colorado acreage following positive discussions with the US Bureau of Land Management on permitting.
"With all of our assets located in the United States, broadening our access to North American investors is a natural progression as we continue executing our strategy to build a leading US-focused helium and energy company", said chief executive Howard McLaughlin.
The OTC quotation is intended to complement Quantum's existing AIM listing.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
Quantum Helium's board has approved a US OTC Markets secondary listing to complement its AIM quotation, expected to complete within four weeks. The timing coincides with the company's first commercial oil sale from Sagebrush-1 this month and confirmation of 2.5% helium concentrations in the well. The dual listing broadens access to North American investors as the company executes a multi-well drilling programme in Colorado, but the OTC step is a market access move rather than an operational or financial milestone.
The OTC listing expands shareholder liquidity and investor reach in the US, where all Quantum's assets now sit (a shift from the factfile's Saskatchewan focus). Seven producing wells are already generating revenue; the first Sagebrush oil sale and planned reserves audit update will test whether the company can sustain cash generation and move toward a material resource base.
