New Frontier ranks Eldorado second priority target at NWQ copper project

New Frontier Minerals has identified the Eldorado Prospect as its top follow-up target after Big One, backed by copper geochemistry across a 5km structural corridor in the Mount Isa copper district.

New Frontier Minerals (LSE:NFM) has ranked the Eldorado Prospect as the second-highest priority target across its NWQ Copper Project in north-west Queensland, behind its flagship Big One Deposit.

The AIM and ASX-listed explorer's tenement package spans 977 square kilometres in the Mount Isa copper district and hosts more than 20 identified copper prospects.

A systematic review scored each prospect on the strength and reliability of geological, geophysical and historical drilling evidence, placing Eldorado behind Big One and ahead of Valparasia, Boomerang and the historic Mt Storm Copper Mine.

Surface sampling at Eldorado has identified at least three zones of anomalous copper mineralisation along a 5km north-east trending structural corridor, with rock chip results reaching 5,400ppm copper near the historic Epsilon Mine workings.

The prospect sits on the Dorman Fault Zone, a structure that extends south-west into ground held by True North Copper, where the company has used induced polarisation surveys to identify copper sulphide deposits.

New Frontier is recommending reconnaissance work at Eldorado, including ground geophysics, to define drill-ready targets.

Big One remains the project's most advanced asset, with a JORC Inferred Mineral Resource of 2.1 million tonnes at 1.1% copper for 21,886 tonnes of contained metal, and its Mining Lease Application continues through Queensland's regulatory approval process.

"Eldorado has emerged as a compelling priority target, supported by a substantial copper geochemical footprint and a favourable structural setting," said chairman Gerrard Hall.

The company plans further mapping and structural work at Big One and Mt Storm alongside continued reporting on prospectivity outcomes across the wider NWQ portfolio.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

New Frontier Minerals has ranked Eldorado Prospect as its second-priority exploration target at NWQ, behind the flagship Big One Deposit, based on surface copper geochemistry across a 5km structural corridor in the Mount Isa district. The company is recommending reconnaissance and ground geophysics at Eldorado to define drill-ready targets, but the prospect remains at an early stage—no drilling is imminent, and the work plan is exploratory rather than development-focused.

Investment case

Eldorado's ranking reflects New Frontier's systematic portfolio review but does not materially advance the company's near-term value driver—Big One remains the flagship asset with a defined JORC Inferred Resource and an active Mining Lease Application. Eldorado is a longer-dated exploration opportunity requiring geophysical definition before drilling can proceed.
