Itaconix (AIM:ITX) has secured its first customer supply agreement for its 8-gram plastic-free dish detergent tablet, marking a commercial milestone for the plant-based specialty polymer maker.
The AIM and OTCQB-listed group, which develops high-performance plant-based polymers used in homecare and detergent products, will supply the tablets to a North American purpose-driven brand under its SPARX Formulated Solutions business.
Production will run on pilot-scale tableting capacity at Itaconix's North American Innovation Center, using its patented TSI polymers alongside the Bonals tablet press.
The tablet was unveiled at the American Cleaning Institute's Innovation Showcase in February and is already listed for brand managers and retail customers on the company's deeperclean.com ecommerce site.
Retail shelf availability is expected by the end of 2026.
"We are already gaining volumes in dish and laundry detergent tablets in North America", said CEO John R. Shaw, adding that supply deals with select purpose-driven brands will help push further innovation and progress talks with contract detergent manufacturers to produce the tablets on high-speed presses.
The agreement follows the tablet's February trade debut and positions Itaconix to scale beyond pilot production as it works toward wider North American manufacturing partnerships.
